“24” movie put to rest

The long talked about big screen version of 24 appears to have finally met its fate. The man who had been tasked with making the movie, Antoine Fuqua, has being doing interviews for his upcoming action flick Olympus Has Fallen and when asked about any development on 24, he had this to say:

“Yeah, that’s not happening. I don’t think it’s gonna happen at all, definitely not with me, I met with Kiefer [Sutherland], Fox wanted to do it, it was a matter of his schedule before he went off to do his new show [Touch]. I don’t think he was able to get a proper agreement with Fox. The time just passed, and I went off to go to what I was doing.”

I suppose this news won’t really come as a shock to anyone but die-hard fanatics of the show. I personally stopped watching after season 5, which is when I feel it had jumped the shark.

24 ran for 8 seasons from 2001-2010, and featured Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer who worked for the Counter-Terrorist Unit in Los Angeles.

  1. Stopped watching myself (can’t remember exactly when) but the plots and story lines became a bit tired and redundant. How many moles can CTU really have?!?

    1. Yeah, we used to play a game, trying to guess who the mole was after the first episode. Plus, how many times can this happen to one guy? Certainly got a little tedious.
