Cliched sci-fi or noteworthy horror?

The Colony stars Laurence Fishburne and Bill Paxton, and tells the story of “Humanity being forced underground by the next ice age, a struggling outpost of survivors must fight to preserve humanity against a threat even more savage than nature.”

I’ve watched this trailer twice and I’m not really all that sold on the movie. Yes, it stars Morpheus and Private Hudson but it also seems riddled with cliches, and has enough of the plot in the trailer to be able to reasonably figure out what happens during the course of the movie.

Of course, I should not and will not judge The Colony until I have seen it, but it does look more like a quick rental on a Saturday night instead of a must see at the cinema. Time will tell.

    1. Yeah, maybe I’m being too cynical, I still feel like it gives a lot away in the trailer. I do hope it’s good though, as I say I don’t want to judge it unfairly before I’ve even seen it.
