Sony wants to give you Goosebumps

Having being in development at Sony Pictures for some time now, the film adaptation of Goosebumps has finally found its director. Rob Letterman will be the man tasked with turning the popular children’s horror books into a live action movie. Letterman has previously directed Shark Tale, Monsters vs Aliens and Gulliver’s Travels.

The original Goosebumps series contains 62 books, published between 1992-1997. I used to read these books all the time when I was a kid. I even used to draw the curtains in my room when the TV show was on, you know just to add atmosphere (oh shut up, I was a kid!).

I’m not sure how these books will be adapted, but it wouldn’t be so hard to try to aim for a Gremlins vibe, which could provide a happy medium to both children and adults that may want to check the film out. Here’s hoping anyway.
