Ethan Hawke readies himself for The Purge

“Given the country’s overcrowded prisons, the U.S. government begins to allow 12-hour periods of time in which all illegal activity is legal. During one of these free-for-alls, a family must protect themselves from a home invasion.”

That’s the synopsis for new horror/thriller The Purge. Borrowing heavily from films like Assault On Precinct 13, Hostage and even the siege mentality of say Dawn Of The Dead. This looks like silly, highly unbelievable fun.

The Purge stars Lena Headey, Ethan Hawke and is directed by James DeMonaco, and will be released later in the year in the UK.
