There hasn’t been any real Star Wars related news for a while now. It’s mostly been rumors and Harrison Ford getting grumpy about not being in a Star Wars movie since ’83.

Now though, taking centre stage at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Disney has announced its plans to release a new Star Wars movie every summer from 2015. I bet the fanboys are queuing up already.

The plan, apparently, is to kick things off with the JJ Abrams directed Episode VII in 2015, then alternate the new trilogy with the proposed stand alone movies every year after that.

The Star Wars universe is ripe for the picking when it comes to characters and different stories, the comics have been going since forever.

Personally, if I could pick one stand alone film, then I would give Zack Snyder all the money he needs and then some to create the seven samurai inspired Jedi Knights story he mentioned a while back.
