Whilst this cannot strictly be deemed as news, the official phase three poster from Marvel Studios does throw up an interesting note for fanboys and bloggers who have nothing better to write about.

Taking a quick look at the poster reveals everything we know so far, ie the release of Captain America: Civil War, Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Thor Ragnarok, Black Panther and so on. With one exception, next years Ant-Man.

On a personal level, I understood that Ant-Man was all set to be the first phase three film, with Avengers: Age of Ultron concluding phase two. It now however seems that Ant-Man will indeed conclude phase two and any previous thoughts of the Avengers film concluding each phase now seemingly blown out of the water.

With Avengers: Age of Ultron due to be released on April 24th 2015 in the UK, and Ant-Man due for release on July 17th many are already predicting that Avengers: Age of Ultron will be an incredibly hard act to follow. Especially when you consider Ant-Man’s troubled production, change of director and a character who the wider film going audience know little about perhaps already puts the film on the back foot. Then again, with the success of Guardians of the Galaxy this year, can Marvel do any wrong at the moment?
