With X-Men: Apocalypse due for release in 2016, some casting rumours have recently made their way online. Specifically these rumours are centering around the characters of Jean Grey and Scott Summers and which young actors could be taking up the roles previously held by Famke Janssen and James Marsden.
X-Men: Apocalypse will reunite the cast from the previous two films, including the likes of Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult, Evan Peters and Hugh Jackman. While it is also considered that Channing Tatum will be making his first appearance as Gambit before going on to star in his own spin-off film.
As for the new cast members, it is being rumoured that Chloe Grace Moretz (Kick-Ass), Elle Fanning (Super 8) and Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit) are in line to take the part of Jean Grey. While Ben Hardy (Eastenders), Charlie Rowe (The Golden Compass) and Timothee Chalamet (Interstellar) are being lined up for the role of Scott Summer/Cyclops.
These names are far from confirmed, and it is merely thought that these are the first shortlist to be brought up. It should also be noted that whoever lands the role will likely feature in the role for several more films, and will likely replace the First Class cast over time.
X-Men: Apocalypse is due for release in the UK on May 19th 2016.
