With the fate of mankind at stake, only Matt Damon can save us.
The Great Wall, starring Matt Damon and directed by Zhang Yimou, will be available to buy on DVD, Blu-ray and On Demand on 12 June.
“Starring global superstar Matt Damon and directed by one of the most breathtaking visual stylists of our time, Zhang Yimou (Hero, House of Flying Daggers), The Great Wall tells the story of an elite force making a valiant stand for humanity on the world’s most iconic structure. Jing Tian, Pedro Pascal, Willem Dafoe and Andy Lau also star in this sweeping epic.”
There is a sense that The Great Wall was a bit of a dud at the cinema. This may or may not be correct, but I look forward to seeing this on home release and deciding for myself.
The disc will include:
Deleted and Extended Scenes

The Great Wall Visual Effects – VFX Supervisor Phil Brennan discusses the visual effects of The Great Wall.

Man vs. Monster – An exploration of the characters involved and the techniques used (SFX, stunts, VFX) in each of the three battles.
Weapons of War – A behind-the-scenes look at the huge undertaking required to create the weaponry for the film. Filmmakers discuss the ancient Chinese history and the mythology of the movie that influenced all of the designs.
